Overnight Cook - Fireside (Full Time)

Responsibilities

• Learn and be familiar with all of Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa’s food outlets.
• Answer general questions regarding the property.
• Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare food items according to established menu plans.
• Wash, slice, peel, and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Ensure foods are cooked sufficiently by tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
• Communicate orders to dining room staff and prepare food items accurately in a timely manner.
• Complete assigned prep items as written on prep sheet.
• Maintain assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe, and effective manner.
• Enforce Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, and cleanliness.
• Attend company training programs as scheduled.
• Perform opening, closing, and other side duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Communicate with Lead Cook and Sous Chefs as needed.
• Execute company and department standards as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual.

Requirements

• At least one (1) year experience directly related to the accountabilities.
• Basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Age of at least 18 years.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of sanitation procedures.
• Able to work a graveyard shift (10:00pm to 6:00am).

Qualifications

Must have a valid Colorado Gaming License after 90 days of employment.

Skills

Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures.

Pay

Starting Salary: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Schedule

Graveyard Shift: 10:00pm to 6:00am.
