About the role
Average work schedule is seven consecutive days staffing, followed by seven consecutive days off.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and incorporate age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education.
- Adjust care according to patient response and provide clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events.
- Serve as departmental resources and liaisons to other departments, hospital personnel, or external groups.
- Manage the appropriate use of medications according to professional and regulatory standards.
- Conduct practice-related research and patient care, quality, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Provide medication and practice-related education/training and actively serve as preceptors for pharmacy residents and Doctor of Pharmacy students.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy required.
- Licenses and Credentials:
- Pharmacist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required.
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration [MCSR - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Health preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience working as a pharmacist 2-3 years preferred.
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy.
- Postgraduate residency/fellowship training preferred.
- Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 with critical care experience or a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Extensive knowledge and ability in all areas of the department including IV Admixtures, Drug Information, Ambulatory, Manufacturing, and Drug Distribution.
