Overnight Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA'S) in Bridgewater, NJ.

Live Long Well Care of Bridgewater, NJ is now accepting applications for Overnight Full Time and Part Time Certified Home Health Aides to provide personal care and companionship for seniors. This position has an every other weekend requirement. CHHA certification is required.

About the role

This position reports to the Client Services Manager (CSM) and/or designated supervisor in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. The role involves providing personal care, companionship, and support to seniors in their homes within a 30-mile radius of Bridgewater, NJ. An up-to-date smartphone is required for electronic timekeeping, care tasks, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, feeding
• Mobility assistance including using transfer aids (Hoyer lifts, gait belts, etc.)
• Meal preparation and cooking
• Light housekeeping and laundry (washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, laundering clothes and bed linens)
• Grocery shopping, errands, and transportation
• Working with clients who have dementia or Alzheimer’s
• Providing companionship and engaging in daily activities with clients
• Pet services (grooming, feeding, walking, bathing, etc.)
• Representing the company positively and fostering respect for clients and employees
• Promoting safety and well-being for clients and employees
• Documenting services provided accurately and submitting records in a timely manner
• Reporting changes in client needs, conditions, or incidents to the supervisor immediately
• Responding to client needs sensitively and promptly
• Attending staff development programs and obtaining continuing education as required
• Adhering to HIPAA guidelines and company policies
• Complying with risk management, safety, infection control, and other mandatory requirements
• Providing a safe environment for clients and employees

Requirements

• High school graduation or GED
• CHHA certification (required)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (see driving requirements below)
• Up-to-date Android or iPhone smartphone for electronic documentation
• Current listing with no substantial findings on state Aide Registry (if applicable)
• Ability to work some weekends and every other weekend
• Two years’ experience in a similar position or with the elderly (desired but not required)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
• Ability to work with minimal or close supervision
• Must pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety, emergencies, transportation, and pet care

Physical Abilities

• Work indoors for most of the workday (fluorescent lights, HVAC, normal housing noise levels)
• Provide reliable transportation
• Physical ability to perform duties requiring lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to provide partial or complete assistance with non-personal ADLs without assistance
• Ability to work in time-sensitive or stressful situations
• Sit or stand for extended periods
• Travel to various client locations throughout the workday/week

Working Conditions

• 50-90% of work performed in clients’ homes
• Exposure to malodorous, infectious, or body fluids
• Minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleaning/disinfectant agents

Driving Requirements

• Must be 21-70 years old (if over 70, a signed physician statement is required)
• Valid, non-expired driver’s license
• No denied or revoked licenses in the last 3 years
• No suspended licenses or two or more suspensions in the last 3 years
• No more than two at-fault accidents within 3 years
• No more than three moving violations within the last 5 years
• No DUI, DWI, speeding in excess of 25 mph, reckless/careless driving, vehicular homicide, or manslaughter violations within the last 5 years

Pay

$19 USD per hour

Schedule

Full-time, on-site, overnight shifts with an every other weekend requirement.
