Overnight Awake Shift Workers are needed for residential programs serving up to nine adolescent girls or boys referred by the MA Department of Children and Families (DCF). This role ensures the welfare of children/youth during overnight hours in a trauma-sensitive, structured, and therapeutic environment.

About the role

Join a dedicated team of supervisors, clinicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and direct care staff. The overnight shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and may include weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Remain awake, alert, and security-conscious to monitor client activity throughout the shift.
  • Perform and document client bed checks every 15 minutes and program security checks at required intervals.
  • Engage clients and develop positive, supportive professional relationships using a strength-based, client-centered approach.
  • Follow program safety and security policies, including supervising clients, adhering to procedures, conducting searches, and maintaining security awareness.
  • Assist clients with routines such as morning wake-up, meal preparation, school preparation, medication administration, cleanup, and transportation.
  • Provide timely notification of program incidents and complete accurate documentation.
  • Implement crisis intervention and safety procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid state driver’s license and legally registered and insured car for work use.
  • Commitment to participate in required trainings and certifications, including FA/CPR/AED, MA Medication Administration Program (MAP), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention.
  • College coursework and one year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive background check required.

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $24/hr. Additional compensation is provided for bilingual skills and through a generous employee referral bonus program.
