Overhead Crane Operator-Loader

About the role

The Crane Operator/Loader handles materials related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
• Understand products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret measuring devices
• Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, completing all necessary paperwork
• Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment
• Valid certification to operate overhead cranes
• High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrated reliable work history
• Willingness to learn new skills and train others
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality
