Loader Equipment Operator

About the role

Morgan is hiring equipment operators and laborers for its Utilities division. Equipment operators are responsible for operating heavy equipment—including trucks, front-end loaders, and other heavy civil construction equipment—in a safe and appropriate manner. Operators must also clean, maintain, and secure all equipment for which they are responsible. Experience is preferred, but we welcome individuals of all levels. On-the-job training is provided, and each position offers advancement opportunities based on performance.

Laborers will receive on-the-job training, which includes assisting in equipment maintenance, learning to operate equipment, cutting edges, sweeping curb lines, marking manholes, staking and stringing, and reporting obstacles to the Foreman. All work must be performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (e.g., trucks, front-end loaders, and other civil construction machinery) safely and efficiently
• Clean, maintain, and secure assigned equipment
• Assist in equipment maintenance and repairs
• Perform labor tasks such as cutting edges, sweeping curb lines, marking manholes, staking, and stringing
• Identify and report obstacles or hazards to the Foreman
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications

• Ability to relocate to Magna, UT before starting work (required)
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background check

Military experience is valued. The following roles translate well to this position:

• Air Force: Pavement and Construction Equipment Journeyman, Apprentice, or Helper
• Army: Motor Transport Operator, General Construction Equipment Operator, Heavy Construction Equipment Operator, or Horizontal Construction Engineer
• Navy: Equipment Operator (Basic, Advanced, or Operator)
• Marines: Motor Vehicle Operator

Schedule

• Full-time (30–80 hours per week)
• 12-hour shifts
• Overtime as required
• Weekends as needed
