Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, repair, maintain and test operational equipment such as engines, compressors, ancillary and auxiliary equipment.
  • Schedule, coordinate and inspect the work of third party contractors to accomplish these objectives.
  • Maintain records for required state, federal and company procedures and participate in team administrative duties.
  • Utilize computer and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering and filing of various forms.
  • Participate in and support the training of other team members and other functions such as team budgeting, planning, performance management and decision-making.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and general appearance of facilities, vehicles and surrounding work area.
  • Provide technical leadership to staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in mechanical or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of related mechanical experience.
  • Must have knowledge and hands-on skills to maintain the following equipment: high-speed, separable compressor units, including Waukesha-Pearce, White-Superior, Caterpillar and a variety of integral and turbine driven compressors, auxiliary and ancillary equipment.
  • Must possess good mechanical knowledge and skills to maintain high-speed engines and compressor, slow-speed reciprocating compressor engines and turbine driven natural gas related equipment.
  • Operating experience with this compressor equipment is a plus.
  • Must work effectively in a managed teamwork environment that includes shared responsibilities, relationships with team members, landowners, contractors and customers; willing to support team and company objectives; and willing to work in any and all areas of operations as requested to maintain team assets.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess a “Build to Last” vision.
  • Must be able to identify work priorities, meet deadlines and function with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to achieve skills needed by the team.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of computers is essential.
  • Must possess effective clerical skills for administrative duties.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license; commercial license preferred and possibly required in the future.
  • Will have to comply with all Department of Transportation regulations as well as be a DOT qualified driver.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals.
  • Must be able to work in remote locations, often working alone.
  • Required to work a rotating on-call schedule, subject to 24-hour basis callout at any time for emergency response.
  • Requires carrying a cell phone.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required and overnight stays away from home; travel estimated at 80 to 90 percent and will be seasonal with equipment demand.
  • Will be required to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings and training.
  • Subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions and temperatures, heights, high-pressure gas, heavy lifting and cramped working quarters.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing.
  • Have a strong background troubleshooting the mechanical integrity of all types of engines/compressors and associated equipment.
