Outside Sales - Trench
About the role
Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This position offers competitive pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to work in a supportive, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Secure orders, locate new customers, plan sales calls, and make presentations demonstrating the advantages of dealing with Sunstate Equipment.
- Build strong business relationships through respect for the customer and a sincere desire to serve his needs.
- Maintain personal relations with customers.
- Solve customer's problems and provide assistance to product application.
- Provide trench safety and confined space specific solutions, including engineered systems for site specific applications.
- Engage in the early stages of project bids.
- Instruct competent person training classes for excavation safety and confined space entry as needed.
- Keep customers up to date on new products in Sunstate fleet.
Requirements
- 3 years Outside Sales experience in the construction industry required.
- 2-3 years experience in the Trench Shoring industry is highly preferred.
- High quality control.
- Respect your work and make it known.
- Intermediate competency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM programs.
- An efficient and effective communicator and hold yourself to the Sunstate standard of excellence.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P as it pertains to excavation safety is preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 as it pertains to confined space entry is preferred.
- Basic computer skills including average typing skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM programs.
