Outside Sales Representative
Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure is seeking a Sales Representative to join their team in Seattle. The Sales Representative reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with current and potential customers, achieving sales goals, and increasing sales volume and profit margins.
Job Location
This position is remote and requires the candidate to be located in the greater Seattle, WA area.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategy and tactics to meet company sales goals and profitability in key markets through assigned geography.
- Establish short and long-term goals and strategies in regard to key clients and prospects.
- Develop specific action plans to achieve goals.
- Conduct in-depth analysis including on-demand forecasting, competitor capabilities, and customer profiles.
- Meet specific sales volumes and profit margin goals.
- Participate in industry-related associations to develop and maintain key networking and business relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the engineering community.
- Leverage these relationships to get Oldcastle products specified on future projects.
- Identify and assist in the bid process and development of bid strategies for each job within the assigned marketing area.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers and vendors as needed.
- Partner within-house departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Communicate with the sales team to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap geographic boundaries and markets, as well as to leverage the OI portfolio across company boundaries.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in civil infrastructure construction, precast concrete manufacturing sales, or similar product sales.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure construction, precast concrete manufacturing sales, or similar product sales.
- Strong business acumen in regard to sales and knowledge of current and possible future industry trends.
- Ability to read and interpret civil design drawings and engineering production drawings.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time throughout the sales region.
- Drive and self-discipline to work independently within the territory to accomplish goals.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers – both internal and external.
- Pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter who is action-oriented and drives for results.
- Foster a collaborative, team-based approach.
- Experience with technical sales to engineers and specifying agencies (a plus).
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; monthly auto reimbursement for mileage is provided.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people both within the company and in a sales capacity.
Compensation
- Base pay range target: $95,000 - $115,000
- Quarterly bonus eligible
- Vacation hours: 2 weeks per year
- Sick leave benefits: up to 56 hours per annum
