Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers within an assigned sales' territory.
- Communicate with customers to identify and understand their product or service needs; suggest products and services to meet those needs.
- Demonstrate the functions, benefits, and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
- Perform product knowledge training to dealers based on their needs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
- Submit monthly mileage and expense reports.
- Provide periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- 2 Years Outside Sales Experience required
- Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
- Prior construction products, building materials, drywall, fastener, or related industry experience
- Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Competitive, goal-oriented, and driven to exceed sales targets
- Professional communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent relationship building skills with contractors, purchasing managers, field supervisors, and dealer personnel
Work Conditions
- Must be able to Travel, including some overnight throughout the five boroughs, Long Island, and surrounding metro areas
- Long periods of time driving
- May spend time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Jobsites, warehouses, and offices, inside and outside, standing for long periods of time
- Directly with customers
- Lifting capabilities 50lbs
