About the role
Outside Sales Reps play a critical role in the success of our business as the first line of contact to our customers. The target is to drive contractor demand, provide industry-leading product knowledge, build excellent dealer relationships, ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers within an assigned sales territory.
- Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs.
- Demonstrate the functions, benefits, and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
- Perform product knowledge training for dealers based on their needs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
- Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
- Submit monthly mileage and expense reports.
- Provide periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 years of outside sales experience required.
- Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook.
Work Conditions
- Must be able to travel, including overnight stays.
- Long periods of driving.
- May spend time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work environments include jobsites, warehouses, and offices, both inside and outside, with long periods of standing.
- Direct interaction with customers.
- Lifting capability of up to 50 lbs.
