About the role
The Outside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in the Doors, Frames, and Hardware industry. This position involves identifying new project opportunities, reviewing plans and specifications, assisting with bids, presenting bids, and following up to close contracts.
Responsibilities
- Visits customers on a regular basis to check progress of current jobs and get leads for new work.
- Cultivates new customer relationships in the market.
- Secures construction plans and specifications on upcoming work in a timely manner.
- Participates in the take-off process from plans and construction specification interpretation to maximize bid potential.
- Reviews all bids for accuracy before submission and follows up on bid results to negotiate job capture.
- Maintains good vendor relationships and assists in estimating by obtaining competitive bids from vendors.
- Attends project meetings with the project manager and communicates with important vendors regularly.
- Participates in continuing education for door and hardware products and building code requirements.
- Solves problems related to customer matters or internal issues as needed.
- Aids in collection issues as requested by the Credit Department.
- Participates in regular sales meetings to assess market opportunities, report on potentials, and determine assignments.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid US driver’s license and at least 21 years old.
- At least 5 years of experience in a construction-related environment, preferably in the Doors, Frames, and Hardware industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Good math aptitude.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software (Comsense) is preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel, primarily local and regional.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
Skills
- Ability to solve problems related to customer matters or internal issues.
- Knowledge of commercial door and hardware products and building code requirements.

Pay

Schedule
