About the role
The role of a Carter Lumber Outside Sales Representative involves creating and maintaining strong relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. This position leverages expertise in sales and home building basics to sell and manage projects.
Responsibilities
- Work with various departments including Yard and dispatch office, middle management, and vice presidents.
- Find and complete sales of building materials and installed services.
- Manage customer relationships and jobsites, collecting and updating information on product use and trends.
- Visit job sites as needed, maintain schedules, and address any issues that arise.
- Utilize proven sales strategies, commitment to follow-through, and effective communication.
Requirements
- Experience in sales.
- Knowledge of home building basics.
- Ability to create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
- Experience opening new accounts on a regular basis.
- Skills in reading blueprints and providing material take-off lists.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Attendance at relevant events such as HBA/builder/company functions.

Pay
