About the role
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Outside Sales Representative to develop new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor to builders, contractors, and project managers in the Anchorage area. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Prospect and generate leads through networking, referrals, market research, and business development activities.
- Assess customer needs and recommend products and solutions that align with their project goals.
- Represent the company throughout the sales process by gathering information on customer requirements, project specifications, and design needs.
- Prepare and negotiate sales proposals and contracts for residential and construction projects.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations and product demonstrations to current and prospective customers.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
- Educate customers on company products, services, and value-added solutions.
- Resolve customer concerns and assist in troubleshooting complex field issues when needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service and successful project execution.
Requirements
- Experience in outside sales, business development, or account management (preferred).
- Knowledge of lumber, building materials, construction products, or related industries (highly valued but not required).
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
