Precision Pump and Valve (PPV) / Filter Resources, an MCE Company, is seeking an entrepreneurial Outside Sales Representative to build and grow a territory in Lake Charles, LA. This role focuses on introducing customers to our full offering of process valves, filtration solutions, and specialty process controls through a consultative, long-term value-driven sales process.

Founded in 1985, Precision Pump and Valve (PPV) is a VR-certified, full-service provider of specialty process controls including safety relief valves, control valves, regulators, chokes, and chemical injection pumps, serving the oil and gas, petrochemical, and refining industries across the Gulf Coast. Filter Resources, also part of the MCE family, is a specialized distributor of process filtration solutions serving the same downstream and industrial markets. Together from our Lake Charles, LA headquarters, we cover the full flow control and filtration needs of one of the most active process industry corridors in the country. Both companies joined Motion and Control Enterprises (MCE) in 2023, giving our teams the resources of a top-50 national industrial distributor while maintaining the specialized expertise and customer-first culture built over decades on the Gulf Coast.
Responsibilities
- Grow the Territory
- Explore and grow the Precision Valve and Filter Resources client account list by attracting new customers and developing new sales opportunities.
- Respond to and develop incoming leads in a timely and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to new sales opportunities.
- Attend networking events, promotional trade shows, and industry functions to build pipeline and represent PPV and Filter Resources in the market.
- Develop strategies, tactics, and techniques based on feedback from customers, market conditions, and the broader sales team.
- Serve and Retain Existing Customers
- Maintain healthy, long-term business relationships with existing customers through consistent outreach, proactive problem resolution, and quality customer service.
- Function as the liaison between the manufacturers and suppliers we represent and the end-user customers who depend on their products.
- Collect, analyze, and evaluate account performance data to identify opportunities to maintain and increase revenue.
- Align sales opportunities with resource availability to ensure commitments made to customers can be delivered.
- Develop, manage, and nurture business partnerships that generate recurring value for both the customer and PPV.
- Manage the Business
- Prepare and develop accurate, competitive quotes for valves, filtration products, and related services.
- Record all account, contract, and sales activities in CRM on a daily basis.
- Accomplish monthly, quarterly, and annual volume and profit goals.
- Maintain a professional, efficient, and accountable approach to territory management.
- Travel as required within the territory, including occasional overnight stays.
Requirements
- Must Have
- 5 to 7 years of sales and account management experience with a proven track record of hitting targets.
- Technical background in relief valves, control valves, isolation valves, and/or process instrumentation — you can have a credible conversation with a process engineer.
- Process industry experience — oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, chemical processing, or related fields.
- Entrepreneurial attitude — self-motivated, self-accountable, and comfortable driving results with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality in all customer and business dealings.
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work flexibly including outside standard business hours when needed.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems.
- Ability to travel within the territory, including overnight stays as required.

- Ability to persuade and negotiate with clients to close complex, high-value opportunities.
- Knowledge of the MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) industry.
- Established customer relationships in the Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, or broader Gulf Coast process industry market.
- Familiarity with filtration products, filter vessels, or rental filtration systems.
