About the role

This outside sales role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing relationships with customers. The Dealer Sales Rep owns the dealer and buyer relationships with key customers in a defined Distribution Center market, working independently while collaborating with an integrated local sales team to deliver value and achieve sales and margin growth. The role drives growth in scale, ensures superior value delivery, and promotes Weyerhaeuser’s full range of products, with a focus on the industrial segment.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, cultivates, and protects dealer and buyer relationships with assigned customers.
  • Coordinates customer strategies to deliver superior value, grow wallet-share, and improve profitability.
  • Uses market knowledge and relationships to identify opportunities with new and existing customers for Weyerhaeuser’s full range of products.
  • Gathers market intelligence and translates it into actionable input for decisions on product mix, pricing, inventory levels, and demand outlook.
  • Develops and executes marketing and communication plans, including promotions, specials, and market pull-through activities.
  • Analyzes customer business needs and develops solutions leveraging Distribution products and services.
  • Collaborates across teams and organizational boundaries to drive results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, with 3+ years in building materials distribution outside sales (industrial segment experience is a plus).
  • Proven success managing large and complex accounts, including building executive relationships, developing programs, and negotiating solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Distribution Center’s products, their selling features/benefits, and competitive products.
  • Working knowledge of factors influencing profitability and financial drivers in retail, wholesale, and construction industries.
  • Complete understanding of the geographic market, including competitors, customers, and supply chain/logistical drivers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills (authentic, adaptive, persuasive).

Skills

  • Product-specific sales and purchasing experience.
  • Experience in building materials distribution.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Target salary range: $82,000 - $123,000, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for an annual merit-increase program and a quarterly Sales Incentive Program cash bonus.
