Outside Sales - Electrical Testing
About the Role
Outside Sales will develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients within the technical and manufacturing fields. The position will identify growth opportunities and develop and implement strategies to maintain and increase sales within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Grow customer base and achieve or exceed personal and company sales goals on a monthly basis within the assigned region.
- Cultivate and maintain customer relationships with electrical contractors, distributors, end users, and utilities through regular visits and communication.
- Create and maintain positive relations with vendors, internal business unit leaders, and strategic business partners to ensure customers receive the best value and support.
- Apply industry knowledge to offer technical and practical solutions to internal and external customers, providing consultation on electrical solution needs.
- Develop and win opportunities for remanufactured and reconditioned power distribution and control products (e.g., switchgear, HV/LV breakers).
- Work with internal departments to ensure customer transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Support coordination of services for customers with RESA Power’s field service team, including scheduling and preparing work details.
- Develop and implement a trade area sales strategy in conjunction with the Chief Growth Officer of sales and business unit leaders.
- Attend and support customer events and trade shows.
- Participate in sales and budget planning for the designated region.
- Follow up on deliveries to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Perform site visits and job walk-throughs to ensure profitable quoting.
- Prioritize and schedule client work, generate work orders for technicians, and communicate in a customer-service-oriented manner.
- Expand project scope as needed and negotiate extra charges for additional work performed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; sales experience preferred.
- Strong product knowledge of multiple-brand electrical switchgear, control products, and electrical distribution.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA.
- Strong background and experience with high-voltage equipment up to 230 kV class.
- Proven ability to create and close sales opportunities, with excellent customer relations skills.
- Experience in the utility and industrial markets.
- Creativity and skill in negotiation situations.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); CRM experience preferred.

Pay
$95,000 to $125,000 base salary plus commission.

Schedule
Full-time position with up to 40% travel required.
