Outside Sales

About the role

The Outside Sales Representative/Account Manager’s daily routine varies day to day, involving work both inside and outside the office. The role requires working independently as well as in a team environment, with sales limited to surrounding counties (no long‑distance travel required). A basic knowledge of motors and pumps is a plus, but the company is willing to train the right candidate. The position reports to the C.O.O., operates in a temperature‑controlled office with local travel, and involves developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying prospects, conducting calls and face‑to‑face meetings, creating pricing proposals, and serving as the main point of contact for new, in‑progress, and past work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
• Identify prospective customers and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Follow up on potential sales leads.
• Conduct calls and face‑to‑face meetings with customers daily.
• Travel within sales territory to meet prospects and clients.
• Create pricing proposals for clients.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients for any new, in‑progress, and past work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least two (2) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Willingness to learn the industry and services offered by our company.
• Very strong interpersonal skills.
• Very strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment.
• Must pass drug and background screening.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Must be able to regularly move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales experience.
• Associate’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with municipal contracts.

Pay

Base salary plus quarterly commission. Pay frequency: Weekly. FLSA status: Exempt Employee.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
