Responsibilities

• Pursue new customers by researching industry and market trends impacting restaurants within your territory, identifying and researching prospective customers, and developing sales strategies.
• Deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships by visiting all customers within the assigned territory on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, conducting business reviews, and providing ongoing training to customers on Gordon Food Service product offerings.
• Manage sales territory by balancing new customers acquisition and deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships, coordinating visits to prospective and existing customers, and communicating order status and order processing updates to customers.
• Train new employees through various training offerings including e-learning, job shadowing, and peer mentorship, learning how to use Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships, and understanding best practices on developing relationships with current and prospective customers.

Requirements

• A high school diploma/GED is required.
• A bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate is preferred.
• One year of prior sales, business, or food service experience is required.
• A valid state driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
• The ability to obtain a food safety certification is required.
