Outreach & Retention Specialist (Youth ) Queens

About the role

AHRC New York City is a large, complex nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting neurodivergent children and adults through a broad spectrum of services. We are looking to hire an Outreach and Retention Specialist for their Queens Train and Earn Career Pathways Program with the NY City Department of Youth and Community Development.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with community partners and conduct information session presentations and/or discussions with community partners
• Travel citywide to attend and participate in community events and public meetings
• Establish and maintain new relationships between the community and AHRC NYC, including business connections, internship sites, and additional support services
• Engage community in partnership to support participant achievement and align resources
• Support DYCD case managers in maintaining relationships with program participants to encourage retention
• Provide trauma-informed case management services to ensure participants receive necessary support, maintaining detailed case notes and producing required reporting
• Regularly participate in team meetings to discuss updates and strategies for improving service delivery
• Serve as a liaison between staff, participants, families, community members, and service providers
• Act as the primary contact for individuals exploring the DYCD program and facilitate information sessions about the program
• Facilitate onboarding for all DYCD participants and ensure all required paperwork is completed in a timely manner
• Ensure timely documentation of all outreach and direct service activities and track and report on outreach efforts and direct services provided
• Attend standing check-in meetings to review progress, challenges, and new initiatives
• Meet or exceed all expected program recruitment targets
• Work with the Program Director to identify and conceptualize outreach campaign strategies that meet and exceed goals
• Assist with developing content for electronic and print communications to support and market the program
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices for effective outreach methodologies
