About the Program

The Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT) program provides crisis intervention and assessment, intensive case management, relapse prevention, and care coordination services to youth in crisis. This program partners with the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team and responds to crises 24/7 in schools, emergency rooms, homes, and clinics. The core components of a crisis continuum include somewhere to call, someone to respond, and a place to go.

The Bluebonnet Trails Youth Outreach Specialist plays a key role in providing an immediate, in-person response to those in crisis and continues to offer transitional services for up to 90 days to each youth and family. The YCOT team consists of Youth Outreach Specialists, Certified Family Partners, Certified Peer Support Specialists, Therapists, and linkage to other services and resources as needed. The program serves the whole family system and aims to reduce utilization of higher-level care options while minimizing intersection with the criminal justice system.
