Outreach Phlebotomist, 25 hours, Southbridge
Major Responsibilities
- Draws blood specimens following proper procedure.
- Labels all specimens according to policy.
- Transports or prepares for transport all specimens to the laboratory.
- Follows all laboratory and hospital safety rules and universal precautions.
- Maintains appropriate logs or records.
- Participates in the training of new employees.
- Affirms that written physician orders accompany requested tests and ensures diagnosis is present.
- Informs supervisor of any patient or physician concerns for PI trending.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies consistent with usage.
- Covers in all areas of phlebotomy as needed.
Position Qualifications
- All responsibilities are essential job functions.
- Licensed or certified in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to work independently.
Physical Demands And Environmental Conditions
- Work is considered mostly sedentary with frequent standing and bending.
- Regular exposure to blood and body fluids.
- May be required to move/lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Position requires work indoors in a lab environment.

Qualifications
License/Certification/Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Certificate program in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant.
