We are a specialist independent provision with sites in Kirklees, Wakefield, Bradford and Leeds. In our academies we teach and support learners from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to the lives of complex and challenging learners.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Outreach Mentor to join our Pivot Outreach Programme (POP) provision in Kirklees. POP is a growing provision designed to support learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs who may have become disengaged from education or experienced extended periods out of school. Through a combination of academic, pastoral and community-based learning experiences, we help learners rebuild confidence, overcome barriers to learning and make positive steps towards re-engaging with education.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with individual learners to identify and address the barriers affecting their attendance, engagement and progress.
• Build positive professional relationships and deliver tailored interventions and community-based activities that support learners' social, emotional and personal development.
• Support learners to access local community facilities, enrichment opportunities and educational appointments where these activities contribute to agreed outcomes.
• Help learners develop independence, improve their emotional wellbeing, strengthen their social skills and successfully access educational opportunities.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, families and external professionals to plan and deliver personalised support strategies.

Requirements

• Experience of working with learners with SEMH needs.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (role requires regular travel to support learners in a range of community and educational settings).

Salary £24,495.02 (£14.53 per hour) – £28,153.26 (actual starting salary) – Dependant on relevant experience
