About the role
New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast, serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, a 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. Additionally, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools and collaborates with courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to improve individual health and community quality of life.
The Outpatient Support and Data Specialist ensures clients are seen in a timely manner, gathers documentation, and coordinates client appointments for a smooth customer experience. This role involves collecting, reviewing, and confirming the accuracy of clients' demographic and insurance profiles, as well as handling calls, voicemails, and follow-ups.
Responsibilities
- Set up client insurance in the electronic medical records system.
- Respond to customer calls and schedule initial appointments.
- Coordinate initial client contacts and related intake processes.
- Establish client fees according to agency guidelines and communicate this information clearly to clients and/or families.
- Ensure scheduling preferences (face-to-face or Zoom) meet providers’ specific and client accessibility needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Two years of clerical experience or scheduling activities.
- Healthcare office experience is preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work assigned hours.
- Must pass Level 2 Background through DCF and AHCA Clearinghouse.
