Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

Location: AdventHealth Sports Med & Rehab Celebration (400 Celebration Place, Celebration FL, 34747)

Schedule: Weekdays. M/T/W/F 4x10-hour shifts OR the possibility of 5x 8-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency.
• Adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required.
• Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
• Provides training and support to therapy aides and other support staff.
• Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
• Charges patient accurately and timely according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
• Assesses patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
• Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing best practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient’s needs.

Requirements

• Entry level competency of speech language pathology therapy practice theory principle and applications as defined in competency department policies
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
• NMES Training
• LSVT
• Modified Barium Swallow Study Experience
• Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) experience

Qualifications

• Master's Field Of Study in Speech Language Pathology

Skills

• Knowledge of CPT code format and insurance guidelines
