About the role

This is a temporary, part-time (20 hours per week), remote W-2 opportunity currently anticipated to run through September 2026, with the potential for extension or long-term placement based on business needs and performance.

We are looking for experienced Facility Medical Coders to code Same Day Surgery Outpatient Services for hospitals across the United States. As a Facility Outpatient Surgery Coding Specialist, you will review documentation and accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and applicable modifiers to same-day surgery encounters. Collaborate with the coding manager to ensure accurate and timely completion of charts for facility same-day surgery coding.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with coding rules, guidelines, and client expectations.
• Maintain high-quality standards and coding accuracy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in surgery coding within an acute care hospital, teaching facility, or trauma center.
• Experience with complex outpatient surgery coding including orthopedics.
• AHIMA credentials required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or COC) with facility coding experience.
• Experience with EPIC & Optum CAC preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of maintaining 95% coding accuracy and high-quality standards.
• Must pass our coding assessment.
