Outpatient RN Per Diem

About the role

Saint Peter’s is among the few hospitals in the world to have earned its 7th consecutive Magnet® designation and its first Magnet with Distinction designation. The Outpatient RN Per Diem will assess patient health, plan and evaluate individualized care, provide direct patient care or supervise other health team members, and teach patients and their families about health and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with the NJ Board of Nursing, regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics, and institutional policies.
• Teach patients and significant others about health/illness state and plan of care.
• Ensure patients and significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.
• Ensure all procedures are performed based on established Standards of Care.
• Demonstrate competency in performing all procedures within own scope of practice, appropriate to the ages of patients (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics).
• Understand and implement the range of treatment needed by these patients.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.

Pay

Salary Range: 48.00 USD per hour. Rates are determined by job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials. The range reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
