Outpatient Registered Nurse, Cardiothoracic Surgery
Job Description Summary
Mondays through Fridays, no weekends or holidays. Work schedule: 8:30pm - 5:00pm. The Cardiothoracic RN role supports a specialized outpatient practice focusing on patients before and after complex cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
Responsibilities
Supports physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in preparing patients for visits and surgeries.
Manages, schedules diagnostic testing, processes orders, and performs phone triage through in-basket and MyChart communications and prior authorizations.
Reviews patient histories for completeness, assists with follow-up reminders, and supports limited clinical tasks such as wound care and vital signs when needed.
Provides general nursing care to patients and families in diverse health care settings.
Delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs based on department policies and nursing care standards.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing
BLS - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
RN - Registered Nurse certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Additional Job Description
Cardiac, Med/Surg, or Surgical experience is highly desirable.
