About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant role assists in the provision of physical therapy interventions to patients/clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the provision of physical therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
- Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administers treatments and exercises as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
- Evaluates patient progress and communicates findings to the Physical Therapist.
- Documents patient care activities accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Physical Therapy Assistant required or in compliance with the state practice act.
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy for positions in Home Care.
