About the Role

Outpatient Physical Therapist with an orthopaedic and primary care focus at a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients to establish treatment goals and develop therapy plans using methods such as exercise, massage, and electrical modalities.
  • Apply evaluation techniques to assess functional abilities and adapt therapy methods to individual needs.
  • Consult with medical staff and educate patients and caregivers on therapy procedures, equipment, and safety.
  • Supervise and mentor students, volunteers, and ancillary staff; delegate treatment responsibilities when appropriate.
  • Document patient care activities, process billing, and order supplies/equipment.
  • Assess and recommend home modifications, ensure patient safety, and foster effective patient-provider relationships.
  • Participate in professional development and adhere to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • New Mexico Physical Therapist License or Temporary License.
  • CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience in diverse patient populations and bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in environments with chemical/dangerous materials.
