Outpatient/PACU Registered Nurse - Full Time Parsons

Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient procedures and same-day surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for procedures.
• Provide Phase I PACU care, including monitoring airway, vital signs, pain management, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Follow all hospital policies, infection prevention practices, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Current Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Previous outpatient surgery, ambulatory care, PACU, or related nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform routine patient care activities requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
