About the Role

Provides safe, effective dialysis care as part of a healthcare team under RN supervision. Focuses on patient comfort, monitoring treatments, documenting care, and reporting changes or issues. Ensures a clean, safe environment and adheres to regulatory and company policies. Engages in patient education on renal disease, dialysis, diet, and medications. Responds to emergencies, administers IV medications, and performs basic CPR when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care and operate dialysis equipment safely.
  • Monitor treatment parameters, document patient information, and report significant changes.
  • Assist in patient education and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a sanitary environment and follow bloodborne pathogen protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and care planning activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program with current licensure.
  • Preferably with medical-surgical, ICU, or hemodialysis experience.
  • CPR certification and successful completion of hemodialysis training required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment, with accommodation if needed.

Working Conditions

Includes patient interaction, equipment operation, and occasional heavy lifting. Environment is a healthcare facility with exposure to infectious materials. Travel between facilities may be required.
