Pay
The hourly pay range is $40.510 – $52.280 – $58.550. The final rate and pay grade depend on experience, skills, education, internal equity, market factors, and employer practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical nutrition leadership across Sharp HealthCare, the community, and the department.
- Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments; educate patients and families as part of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Act as a resource for physicians, healthcare staff, students, interns, and new RD hires.
- Participate on unit-based, hospital-wide, and system-wide committees and task forces.
- Deliver inservices, orientations, and presentations as needed.
- Meet productivity guidelines and organize work to balance clinical and administrative duties.
- Complete paperwork (patient charges, cardexes, timecards, quality-improvement forms, clinical logs, medical-record reviews) accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with co-workers and the healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes.
- Develop, implement, update, and document nutrition care plans in compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding the nutrition care plan.
- Evaluate patient progress toward nutrition goals and revise goals as needed.
- Participate in patient-care conferences and rounds.
- Identify and prioritize nutritional needs and goals; respond to patient and family educational needs.
- Assess learning needs, address barriers to learning, and refer patients to outside resources when indicated.
- Recommend and document cost-effective interventions to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical nutrition topics through conferences, journals, and literature.
- Incorporate new information and best practices into the work environment.
- Submit timesheets accurately and on time; keep supervisors informed of schedule changes and time off.
Requirements
- Current RD registration in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration within 6 months of completing an approved dietetic internship.
- Other education as required for Registered Dietitians under CDR guidelines.
- CCS paneling required within 6 months of hire for dietitians in CCS-designated NICUs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent, related experience.
- Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) credential, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), or other specialty certification related to the position.
