Shift start and end times are variable. 8-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week. Weekend work as needed; no on-call requirement.

Pay

The hourly pay range is $40.510 – $58.550, with a midpoint of $52.280. Actual pay will depend on experience, skills, education, alignment with internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical nutrition leadership and expertise across Sharp Health Care, the community, and the department.
  • Complete nutrition assessments and reassessments; educate patients and families as part of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Act as a resource for physicians, healthcare staff, students, interns, and new RD hires.
  • Participate on committees and task forces (unit-based, hospital, system-wide) and provide in-services, orientations, and presentations.
  • Meet productivity guidelines and organize work assignments to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities.
  • Complete paperwork (e.g., patient charges, cardexes, timecards, quality improvement data, clinical logs) accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with co-workers and healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans in compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and clinical criteria.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding nutrition care plans.
  • Document and update the plan of care, evaluate patient progress, and revise goals as needed.
  • Participate in patient care conferences and rounds.
  • Identify and prioritize nutritional needs and goals; address patient and family educational needs.
  • Assess learning needs, address barriers to learning, and refer patients to outside resources when indicated.
  • Recommend and document cost-effective interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical nutrition topics through conferences, journals, and literature.
  • Submit timesheets accurately and on time; keep supervisors informed of schedule changes or time off.

Requirements

  • Current RD registration in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration within 6 months of completing an approved dietetic internship.
  • Other education as required for Registered Dietitians under CDR guidelines.
  • Dietitians in CCS-designated NICUs must be CCC-paneled; CCS paneling required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent, related experience.
  • Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), or other specialty certifications related to the position.
