About the role
The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for delivering coordinated, clinically competent care to patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Delegate tasks to care staff such as RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Technicians
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe treatment
- Administer medications and respond to emergencies
- Provide patient education on treatment options
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient data and care plans
- Train staff and ensure laboratory procedures are followed
- Participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Current nursing licensure
- CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum of 9 months RN experience, including 3 months in hemodialysis
Physical demands & work environment
- Heavy lifting
- Prolonged standing
- Assisting with patient mobility
- Healthcare environment that may expose staff to infectious materials
Supervision
Supervision may be provided to care staff after meeting training and experience criteria.
