Outpatient Dialysis Nurse - Per Diem

The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for delivering coordinated, clinically competent care to patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role includes patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with delegation of tasks to care staff such as RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Technicians. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe treatment, administers medications, and responds to emergencies. They provide patient education on treatment options and maintain accurate documentation of patient data and care plans. Additional duties involve staff training, ensuring laboratory procedures are followed, and participating in quality improvement activities. Physical demands include heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting with patient mobility, within a healthcare environment that may expose staff to infectious materials. The position requires current nursing licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and a minimum of 9 months RN experience, including 3 months in hemodialysis. Supervision may be provided to care staff after meeting training and experience criteria.
