Outpatient Counselor/Social Worker - $2,500 Bonus

The Buckeye Ranch empowers youth and their families to overcome dynamics that put youth at risk of being removed from their homes. This position’s caseload is based on the intensity of clients assigned and provides services in the office at times convenient to the family. The average length of treatment is between 6 and 12 months. The Outpatient Counselor/Social Worker could provide psychotherapy and counseling to clients with mental health symptoms and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients for appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, including frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
• Identify history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and family interaction styles.
• Determine the level of immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
• Identify cultural factors that influence strengths, functioning, and family interaction styles.
• Identify strengths and functioning of both client and family for utilization in treatment.
• Collaborate with admissions and engagement and complete comprehensive diagnostic assessments as needed.
• Complete program specific assessments such as DLA 20 or ASQ.
• Develop training plans and facilitate coaching, ensuring that services are family focused.
• Demonstrate practicality, flexibility, and adaptability in the process of working with others, emphasizing the achievement of goals. Adjust the type and intensity of services to the needs of the client.
• Ensure that referrals are made as early in treatment as possible. Ensure family members are supported through the discharge process. Communicate changes in recommendations and/or referrals in a timely and concise manner to all stakeholders.
• Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions with individuals, families, and treatment teams based on cases assigned and at the established acuity for each family. Appointments must be made at times that families can participate; evening work is expected.
• Work with supervisor to adjust acuity when the needs of the families change.
• Use trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients. Educate clients, family members, and other providers about healthcare conditions, prevention, available treatments, illness and whole health self-management, peer support, and recovery.
• Manage behavioral health crises through appropriate interventions. Respond to perceived resistance in a non-confrontational manner and intervene to help child regain control and reduce risk as it pertains to the position held.
• Consistently record client progress in relation to treatment goals. Provide accurate, concise narrative when needed on any documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, behavior management programs, and discharge planning on an accurate and timely basis.

Qualifications

• You have a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• You have an active LPC, LSW, or MFT licensure, or are license exam eligible.
• You have an active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
• You preferably have previous work experience as a Counselor, Therapist, Social Worker, or Clinician.

Pay

• Bachelors/Masters (Non-Licensed): $42,000 - $52,000
• Bachelors (Active License): $50,000 - $60,000
• Masters (Active License): $55,000 - $70,000
