Outpatient Counselor

About the role

An Outpatient Counselor provides direct care of clients under the supervision of the Center's Director and is responsible for all aspects of a client's treatment and care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all relevant regulations
• Evaluate client progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or mental health field, minimum
• Masters degree in counseling, social work, behavioral medicine preferred
• Two years experience in an addiction treatment setting preferred
• Licensed in addiction counseling, counseling, social work

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills
• Effective in working with a team
• Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiar with federal and state regulations relating to field of employment, as well as JCAHO requirements
• Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet multiple demands
• Basic computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft office, Outlook and the aptitude to navigate electronic medical records effectively
• Basic office equipment skills including but not limited to: photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, telephone system, shred boxes, calculators, computers, printers and keyboards
