About the Role
Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, focusing on chemotherapy administration and patient education. Collaborates with an interprofessional team to develop, implement, and document individualized care plans aligned with nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers to involvement. Maintains a safe environment and contributes to professional development.
Responsibilities
- Educates patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration
- Participates in promoting safety, quality, and compliance initiatives
- Develops and communicates comprehensive care plans across the care continuum
- Assesses patient needs holistically, considering cultural, emotional, and spiritual factors
Requirements
- RN licensure with a nursing diploma or associate's degree; bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years of RN experience, with oncology and chemotherapy certification preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work safely and collaboratively in a team environment
