About the role

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming product, sort, and process merchandise according to proper procedure.
• Maintain cleanliness of floorspace and surrounding areas, including restrooms, product sorting areas, storage areas, and grounds.
• Foster long-lasting relationships and educate customers regarding our products and services.
• Facilitate the flow of product and merchandise to its final destination at the end of the product lifecycle.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, including safety, courtesy, and positive communication; ensure that other staff members do the same.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of warehouse(s), sorting area(s), storage container(s), restrooms, and other surrounding areas; light grounds keeping may be required.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the commercial waste receptacle area, including breaking down large unsellable items and placing them neatly into appropriate receptacles.
• Move processed and unprocessed product and other items between work areas.
• Operate heavy equipment; will be trained and certified as needed.
• Assist staff with loading and unloading items, ensuring they remain undamaged and are placed in the correct position and location.
• Work closely with your supervisor and assist with daily duties.
• Manage time, prioritize tasks, and balance cash wrap activity.
• Maintain the appearance of the cash wrap and surrounding sales floor area.
• Complete all tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Communicate daily with leadership regarding needs.
• Communicate clearly and calmly with guests and team members.
• Share the mission of St. Matthew’s House with guests and the general public.
• Perform duties and assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Outlet Manager to ensure efficient store operations.
• Adhere to policies and procedures of St. Matthew’s House.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience necessary; will train.
• Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime and ability to work on some holidays.
• Works with confidential information.
• Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.

Physical Demands

• Requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping for long periods.
• Must handle, feel, and/or reach with hands and arms.
• Must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.
