Outdoor Summer Camp Counselor

About the role

We are seeking summer camp counselors to lead educational experiences for children at Fernbrook Farms Environmental Education Center. The camp offers a unique, engaging, and nature-based program on a 230-acre working farm.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily activities to help kids explore their natural curiosities and discover the wonders of our diverse ecosystems.
• Work both as a team and autonomously, often taking on multiple roles such as teacher, facilitator, counselor, comedian, naturalist, supervisor, janitor, emergency care giver, coach, or friend.
• Support our programs by performing tasks without children such as animal feeding, housekeeping, and facility upkeep.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in an outdoor setting.
• A love of teaching and the natural world.
• A bachelor's degree in environmental education, teaching, or a related field, or be in the process of obtaining one.

• Ability to adapt to various roles and responsibilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
