Job Location
We are currently seeking Short-Term Outbound Material Handlers (6 months) for our 3rd shift at our distribution center in Cumberland, MD. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance review.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using our handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment
- Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing
- Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
- Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
- Abide by all company and warehouse policies
- Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
- Education: This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.
- Desired Traits & Skills: Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.; strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
