Outage Scheduler
About the role
This position supports the outage team at Georgia-Pacific's Toledo, OR site, which manufactures linerboard and corrugated medium. The role involves developing and maintaining effective outage schedules, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring safety and environmental performance goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Schedule all outage work with attention to safety, cost, and duration
- Develop schedules for Annual Outages and Cycle Outages using MS Project
- Ensure schedules are fully resource loaded (Manpower, equipment, contractors, etc.)
- Perform schedule modifications and updates as needed
- Report daily outage progress against S-curve and critical path(s)
- Support outage planners as needed
- Collaborate with Planners, job owners, and Operations to confirm scopes, schedules and resources
- Conduct resource leveling as needed
- Achieve safety and environmental performance goals for outages
- Review of cancelled work or other work that needs to be rescheduled
- Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to key Operations and Maintenance resources
- Drive a singular integrated schedule for outages
- Vet all submittals after the Scope Freeze date with the team
- Utilize established risk matrix to ensure no unnecessary work is added
- Assists with post-outage summaries & critiques
Requirements
- 5+ years of executing turnarounds in a petrochemical, power or industrial manufacturing facility
- Demonstrated knowledge and capability in maintenance planning and scheduling
- Demonstrated capability using a CMMS system
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Project, and MS Excel
- Proficient with Microsoft Project
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Extensive knowledge of turnaround work & execution for all craft types utilized in a heavy industrial (e.g. petrochemical) facility
- Specific knowledge of Asset Suite and scheduling applications (P6, MS Project) is a plus
- Prior craft supervision or planning experience
