Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver class instruction to meet course competencies
  • Collaborate with the academic fieldwork coordinator to ensure that course design meets standards to facilitate success with fieldwork rotations
  • Advise and tutor students as indicated
  • Complete faculty and student evaluations
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, and continuing education to enrich professional development.

Requirements

  • Coordinators must hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body
  • A minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience
  • At least one (1) year teaching experience is preferred with knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, current developments in the field required
  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content taught, with documented specialty certifications or advanced practice certifications preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication (oral and written), organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Licensed to practice as an OT or OTA in the state of TN or Eligible for Licensure in the State of Tennessee

Qualifications

Necessary Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population.
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software systems.
  • Experience with or a willingness to learn video/LMS platforms (ex: Canvas).
