Job Description
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop, govern, and enforce OT connectivity and integration standards aligned with BD’s Process Target Picture and Smart Factory strategy
- Design reliable data flows from PLCs, SCADA, and MES into data lakes or cloud analytics
- Define and own OT reference architectures supporting OEE, analytics, and intelligence use cases, aligned with BD OT standardization models
- Conduct FAT, SAT, and Commissioning activities to confirm performance, safety, and cyber-security compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve OT connectivity, protocol, and data-quality issues while preserving validated state and formal change control
- Create and maintain standard wiring diagrams, gateway configurations, deployment templates, and reference architectures to accelerate multi-site rollouts
- Coach site Automation and Engineering teams, deliver controlled handover and validation documentation, and support go-live and hypercare phases
- Partner with Procurement and Engineering to evaluate and qualify sensors, gateways, and edge devices aligned with BD OT, cybersecurity, and supplier standards
- Collaborate with IT integrators to ensure compliance with network segmentation, identity management, and secure remote access policies
- Maintain an accurate OT asset inventory, including firmware versions, cybersecurity classification, and lifecycle upgrade plans
- Monitor evolving regulatory, cybersecurity, and industry standards, updating OT governance and training materials accordingly
Education, Experience, and Capabilities Preferred
- 5–8+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or PLC/OT system integration
- Strong knowledge on MES architecture, shop-floor systems, and plant-level integration
- Hands-on experience with OT/IT data integration platforms (e.g., Palantir, Cognite, Kepware, Databricks, Aveva)
- Experience on Analytics and intelligence tools: Machine learning, AI, visualization and predictive analytics
- Process Control, Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or other Engineering Background degree is required
- Hands-on experience supporting OEE and digital manufacturing programs at scale
- Working knowledge of industrial networks (OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Profinet) and OT cybersecurity fundamentals
- Basic knowledge on Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies
- Troubleshooting mindset with willingness to travel to manufacturing sites (30%)
