About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Operational Technology (OT) position bridges the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) departments. This role focuses on managing Industrial Control Systems (ICS) to ensure uptime, usability by the O&M team, and enabling the engineering department to trend data for adjusting setpoints and prolonging equipment life.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monitoring, programming, installation, repair, replacement, backup, and recovery of building controls systems.
  • Plan, organize, and guide controls systems development and support activities, including data analysis and database design and administration.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve systems and communications problems, including support for repair/replacement of component-level devices (e.g., I/O devices, modems).
  • Assist utility plant and maintenance personnel with operation, troubleshooting, and alarm investigation to ensure data center integrity.
  • Design and install minor electrical circuits for control and monitoring as required.
  • Manipulate software used for communications and report generation, including creating/modifying GUIs for effectiveness.
  • Generate reports on operational status, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and semiannual reports for Engineering and Fluor Management.
  • Maintain complete and accurate files of systems.
  • Instruct operations and maintenance staff on controls and operations systems, providing troubleshooting training as applicable.
  • Ensure access, security, and integrity of systems, providing supporting documentation and controls.
  • Identify and recommend technology (hardware, software) improvement opportunities.
  • Comply with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study and four years of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling eight years if non-degreed. Some locations may have additional or different qualifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g., email, internet, Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel). Some positions may require increased computer knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum eight years of experience with design, installation, or maintenance of controls systems.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of controls systems, including BAS (building automation systems), PLC (programmable logic controllers), pneumatic controls, and controlled equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, air handling units, VAV boxes, humidification and temperature controls, variable frequency drives, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, and air compressors.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with calibration of field instrumentation (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, and level).
  • Knowledge and practical experience with electronics (e.g., testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating).
  • Controls systems programming experience.

Pay

Salary range: $83,000.00 - $154,000.00. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; final salary is determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
