About the role

The OSP-Field Supervisor ensures construction project activities comply with company and permit requirements. They support the overall project schedule by providing technical support for construction, including planning, execution, quality control, and completion. The role involves developing a basic understanding of the business and project context to align with OSP placing crews' needs. The supervisor also ensures project compliance with Wire 3’s Project Management Methodology (PMM) and upholds safety and quality management protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary liaison between Regional Manager, Construction Manager, and QA/QC Techs
  • Contributes to the management of overall project performance
  • Assists in identifying potential stakeholder conflicts and facilitating resolution
  • Communicates project risks to the Regional Manager and assists in developing risk mitigation steps
  • Assists in implementing project/program plans as assigned
  • Guides QA/QC Techs on completion and inspection-ready segments of construction
  • Ensures effective communication within the assigned project population
  • Responsible for safe work practices and implementing company safety programs for internal and subcontractor crews
  • Works with local governing agencies and subcontractors to meet or exceed production goals
  • Supports the Utility Coordinator on the utility locate process to ensure continuous workflow and mitigate downtime
  • Provides documentation, reports, and information to Regional Management as directed
  • Manages care of the equipment fleet and coordinates maintenance
  • Controls the use and application of tools during the construction process
  • Utilizes company tracking methods and systems to report crew productivity and weekly job progress
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • College Degree or Technical Certification preferred
  • Previous experience managing projects for OSP required
  • Previous oversight of contractors is beneficial

Physical Requirements

  • Work in both field and office environments
  • Must be ambulatory on a variety of terrain, indoors and at outside job sites
