What You’ll Do
- Install new Fiber Optic Network facilities (buried underground and possible aerial)
- Pothole existing utilities, place various sized vaults/handholes/manholes, excavate trenches/holes, core drill building entrances, set marker posts
- Place fiber in new and existing conduits
- Document work progress as required
- Haul and move equipment/trailers/materials from project to project
- Assist with cleaning out inventory yards
- Assist other teams within fiber as necessary and cross train
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Fiber Optic or Utility Construction experience is desired, but willing to train
- At least 18 years of age and hold a current driver’s license; 21+ and/or CDL endorsement a plus
- Able to perform manual tasks requiring frequent walking, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, digging, pushing and pulling
- Able to lift materials weighing up to 100 pounds
- Able to work outside in all elements
- Must be able to travel for extended periods of time (overnight and weekly stays required)
- Must have the ability to pass pre-employment checks, which include a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and substance screening, following federal law
- Must have an eye for detail and a solid work ethic
