About Knapp Medical Center

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas with 227 beds. The community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. The hospital has been providing quality and compassionate healthcare to Mid-Valley residents for 60 years, with more than 300 physicians on its medical staff and over 450 employees.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions
  • Perform orthopedic surgical and non-surgical procedures consistent with training and expertise
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care
  • Collaborate with emergency medicine, primary care physicians, and specialty providers
  • Participate in call coverage as assigned
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Adhere to hospital quality, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Eligible for or active Texas medical license
  • DEA license or eligibility
  • Strong clinical, surgical, and interpersonal skills
