Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Atria Health and Research Institute · New York, NY · 1 mo ago
On-siteHealthcare$160k–$180k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will serve as the primary advanced clinical practitioner for the Atria Orthobiologic Program, operating under a collaborative practice agreement with Dr. Ken Zaslav. This is not a support role; the NP will independently perform orthobiologic procedures, conduct musculoskeletal assessments, manage member care plans, and absorb care coordination responsibilities during phase 2. This role is ideal for an NP with hands-on procedural experience, a genuine interest in regenerative medicine, and the entrepreneurial drive to help build a new clinical program within a growing, mission-driven practice.

Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in New York State (Orthopedic, NP, or equivalent scope covering MSK/procedural care)
  • National board certification (ANCC or AANP)
  • Minimum 2 years of NP experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, pain management, physical medicine, or a procedurally-intensive clinical setting
  • Demonstrated experience performing injections (joint, soft tissue, or ultrasound-guided); experience with PRP or other biologics strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with phlebotomy
  • Proficiency with or willingness to train on ultrasound-guided injection technique
  • Experience with electronic medical records; Athena familiarity a plus
  • Ability to operate under a collaborative practice agreement in New York State
  • Preferred direct experience with PRP preparation and injection procedures
  • Background in regenerative or orthobiologic medicine
  • Experience in a high touch membership-based, or high-touch clinical environment
  • Familiarity with validated MSK outcome tools (VAS/NRS pain scales, KOOS, HOOS, PROMIS)
  • California NP licensure (or willingness to obtain) to support future virtual consultations for LA members
