Orthopedic Assistant - Upper Extremity

About the role

Provides orthopedic support to physicians in surgical, hospital, and clinical settings, including assisting in surgeries, casting, splinting, patient rooming, post-operative care, wound dressing, patient education, and call triage to ensure quality patient care. Must operate within defined scope of practice and competency, with advanced medical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in orthopedic surgeries
• Perform casting and splinting
• Room patients in clinical settings
• Provide post-operative care and wound dressing
• Deliver patient education
• Conduct call triage
• Respond to emergencies and assess patient conditions
• Utilize orthopedic surgical equipment

Requirements

• 3-5 years of orthopedic experience
• Familiarity with OR (Operating Room) environment
• Completion of a healthcare-related post-secondary program (e.g., RN, LPN, Surgical Technologist)
• CPR certification
