About the role
Provides orthopedic support to physicians in surgical, hospital, and clinical settings, including assisting in surgeries, casting, splinting, patient rooming, post-operative care, wound dressing, patient education, and call triage to ensure quality patient care. Must operate within defined scope of practice and competency, with advanced medical training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in orthopedic surgeries
- Perform casting and splinting
- Room patients in clinical settings
- Provide post-operative care and wound dressing
- Deliver patient education
- Conduct call triage
- Respond to emergencies and assess patient conditions
- Utilize orthopedic surgical equipment
Requirements
- 3-5 years of orthopedic experience
- Familiarity with OR (Operating Room) environment
- Completion of a healthcare-related post-secondary program (e.g., RN, LPN, Surgical Technologist)
- CPR certification
